So.. whenever you do a quest? your seperated from the outside world?
thats kinda dumb.. defeats the whole purpose of it being a multiplayer game like seeing people all around you like its a real world. so how are you suppose to meet people and trade and stuff? what if I wanna go and challenge some guy to a duel but I cant because hes in a quest. that sucks

The reason when your in a quest and seperated from the outside world is so no one can kill-steal from you, the quests would be based on your skill. You can also talked to people when your in a quest.

You can still talk to people that are doing quests so you're not totally cut off and there are plenty of places to see people as if you're in the real world and you have the opportunity to see at least 7 other people in a quest (15 others if you're in the right PvP area).
Dueling will probably be introduced and I fail to see how instanced areas inhibit your ability to trade with people. Whether someone is in a quest or not, they'd still have to come meet you to trade which this system doesn't prohibit. |

Go play EQ or WoW! Meet people, how do you do that? Well towns and outposts would be a GREAT start. Trade and stuff. Hmmmmm you would do this via the Trade Channel. Challenge a guy to a duel. No 1v1 but you could meet said person at one of the many arenas and hope you get to battle each other or if your lucky end up on the same team. If what you mentioned before is what you are mainly focused on then you need to go EQII or WoW. |

I'll answer this with anet's response to magazines... Guild wars is not a MMORPG, in a sense it is massive, it is multiplayer, it's also an online role playing game... but they also have repeatadly said it's not tainted with the normal "mmorpg" brush... it's a new breed in gaming, and i personaly love it... i havent seen any other game make classes who are actually equal... i love the idea that i dont have to choose one certain class to be good. not to mention the world can be changed for you based on the quests you do... this game is the "bomb diggy".
End of Story. |
